General Tide Information
The East coasts of North and South America
along with the West coasts of Europe and Africa follow the
"semi-diurnal" pattern of two high and two low tides per tidal
day which are more or less equally spaced. The tidal day consists of
24 hours and 50 minutes.
In contrast, the West coasts of North
and South America are not semi-diurnal. The tide clocks sold on this
site are specifically for semi-diurnal tidal patterns.
The
tide clock would be an asset to any saltwater fisherman or boater.
Tracking the tides can be crucial in the attempt to launch/ramp the boat
or to navigate waterways. It also is an excellent tool for
tracking the best fishing tides. It is simply a must!
